CNU New England advocates across the region to enhance the built and natural environment and promote the principles of the Charter of the New Urbanism. The organization's advocacy work also supports the ability of its members and partners to create high-quality urban spaces in New England.
Specific activities include:
- Research on policies that support strong communities
- Outreach to inform and support decision-makers
- Input and organizing around policies and projects that affect the built environment in New England
CNUNE also partners with the central office of the Congress for the New Urbanism to advance national initiatives, such as the Highways to Boulevards Project, in New England. Currently, CNUNE is bolstering its efforts to provide comment on infrastructure and development projects with the potential to strengthen communities in the Boston region.
CNUNE's Advocacy Committee leads the organization's advocacy efforts with the support and input of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. Members can become involved by joining the Advocacy Committee, and the committee always welcomes suggestions for advocacy opportunities.
