The Vision for Greater Kennedy Plaza, a project being implemented through a public-private partnership between the Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy and the City of Providence, is to create a pedestrian-friendly environment, encourage RIPTA ridership, bolster economic well-being, promote arts and culture, and encourage tourism. The first steps towards implementation of the long-range Vision for Kennedy Plaza are under construction. Join CNU New England for a walkabout in Kennedy Plaza to experience progress firsthand, followed by a panel discussion at Aurora reviewing the vision, progress, programming, and next steps. “Ideas for admission” are required at the door – provide your walkabout observations and thoughts regarding next steps towards implementation of the vision.
Featured panelists: Anne Tate (Rhode Island School of Design) - moderator, Cliff Wood (Providence Downtown Parks Conservancy), Ray Studley (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority), Chris Ise (City of Providence), Buff Chace (Cornish Associates), Don Rhodes (RIPTA Riders Alliance)
